Detroit Villages September Potluck!

On the first cool morning in quite some time I'm reminded of the impending return to normal time here in Detroit. Summer trips have ended, some hold-outs are still galavanting, but on the whole people are returning to their lives. We know some have begun new lives, new communities, have joined new neighborhoods in the city and beyond.

I'm always excited about this time of year.

Detroit Villages This Saturday!

Hello emergedetroit friends! This is just a quick note to remind everyone that this Saturday will be our January gathering for the Detroit Villages and anyone interested in intentional Christian community living. Come meet those living in community in the City of Detroit, share in some potluck goodness, and take time to talk about and consider how God may be calling you into more intentional forms of Christian community! We'll be gathering at a new location this week, just down the street from the BBQs with the Homeless area. So join us at Cass Community UMC this Saturday at 6pm!

What is Covenant?

From time to time we send along pieces that we're using throughout the emergedetroit network for scriptural discernment, study, and as starting points for our conversations. Below is one on the notion of "Covenant" that our Detroit Villages will be using as they seek to build up covenants together and within their various communities.

We hope it might be helpful for you too.

Peace,
Carl
