This week was the first week of Motown Mission. Our group was awesome! This week I did like a zillion things- here is my top ten:
10. Worked in an urban garden and tilled the earth with my hands for two hours.
9. Ate a raisin bagel with cream cheese just about everyday.
8. Watched middle school students rip a ball into pieces playing a vicious game of seated basketball.
7. Talked to a lady whose house we fixed while she showed me every photo of her family from the seventies to the present.
6. Talked about the TV show Survivor for an hour with one of the groups counselors while we swept glass out a a parking lot that is going to be a Farmers Market.
5. Watched high schoolers interpret how they think a sickle works.
4. Laughed until it hurt with Ben, Shelley and Kim
3. Delivered suprise ice cream to the work teams on their fourth day of serving!
2. Got a verbal facebook friend request from a twelve year old "Will you be my friend on facebook?"
1. Saw everyone in the whole group serve Jesus while serving others.

It was an exhausting first week. And next week is going to be more intense but it's in God's hands. No worries........for the most part.
