Christians have become known for things they oppose by speaking out and standing up for things they believe in. Not all of these examples of speaking out are positive- the people of West Borough Baptist Church protest against homosexuality at the funerals of fallen soldiers. They came to my town once and local college students stood in front of their picket line and tried to shield mourning family and friends against their negative comments. If it is the goal of the West Borough Baptist church to convert anyone they sure have a strange way of doing.

Thinking about spiritual gifts- I think I have been given a few gifts. Leadership and worship leading are some of my gifts. I am comfortable in front of large groups of people and I love to lead worship. This summer I have been able to use my gifts. Each week I lead some group games with the groups that come to Motown Mission and I have been able to lead worship a few times each week.

This week was the first week of Motown Mission. Our group was awesome! This week I did like a zillion things- here is my top ten:
10. Worked in an urban garden and tilled the earth with my hands for two hours.
9. Ate a raisin bagel with cream cheese just about everyday.
8. Watched middle school students rip a ball into pieces playing a vicious game of seated basketball.
7. Talked to a lady whose house we fixed while she showed me every photo of her family from the seventies to the present.
