What items do you own that could be used for ministry?
I got some old textbooks that can be sold to help a charity. I gopurst an old futon that can be sent to Africa. I got nice name brand purses that you can donate to battered and sheltered women.

Does Jesus or the church have any claim to those things you own?
Yes, Jesus does, without him , I wouldn't have a job to provide to with the resources I need to have these items.

When have you seen people giving things to churches/ministries that really made a difference?
I have seen churches have food pantries for third world countries. We also do lunch bags to pass out to homeless people in our neighborhoods.We have bereavement ministries, which helps people pay for funerals, and etc,...

ASSIGNMENT

1. Engage someone in giving an in-kind donation to your ministry site. This could be a small item on a wish list, or a big item that no one has thought about yet.
2. Add a blog entry telling us all about who you've called/emailed to make this sharing of things for good happen.

We gave them school supply items. We gave them books to read . We gave Wendy's coupons for a free meal. We had a fun day for the children ,and invited their friends and family, and we did glass etching. We invited the Greening of Detroit to show them how to plant and recycle.
