Session 3 Continued,...

3.Chapters 3 – 8
- Make one observation about each chapter and post it.

Ch.3

Young Christians currently embrace the acceptability of many behaviors older
believers staunchly reject. A majority of born-again adults in their twenties
and thirties currently believe that gambling, cohabitation, and sexual fantasies
There are also huge gaps between young believers and
older Christians when it comes to the acceptability of sex outside of marriage,
profanity, drunkenness, pornography, homosexual sex, and illegal drug use.
The only two areas of statistical similarity between older and younger bornagain
Christians are views on abortion and using the f-word on television.
This is not all the way true I know some young adults who are abstinent , and don't curse or gamble.

Ch.4
I think I want to Meet Chuck Nelson ,and talk to him , they said he is a lawyer and so excited that he discusses Francis Shaffer , the evangelist, I love his story. Loving God is an excellent read.

Ch.5

I don't agree with homosexuality in the church , but at least they're worshiping God.

Chapter 6

Two-thirds of young outsiders said the faith is boring, a description embraced
by one-quarter of young churchgoers as well. (Pg 123)

Yes, because most young adults in church, they need to be more interesting and pertaining one subject, maybe relate to our type situations or something we as young adults can relate to...

Chapter 7

The top problem in the US is terrorism . I agree 100% because we have the Iraq War for 7 yrs and its still going on now as we speak.

Chapter 8

Nearly nine out of ten young outsiders (87 percent) said that the term
judgmental accurately describes present-day Christianity. (Pg 182)
Absolutely False. You can't speak for every Christian . Yes, some might be judgmental and judge other religions or beliefs, but not all . For example, I don't what all others believe in as long as their are nice to me.

.Chapter 9
- How can your group or church begin to creatively express your faith in new and fresh ways?

have revivals more often
one than one or two choirs
multiply charities not just one or two
more than one praise and worship service
bake sales twice a month
every church should have children service for kids and teenagers

Christ was an example of a true servant. How are you serving your fellow Christians and outsiders in your community?

We have Halloween parties for all kids at Dte Energy in South field,Mi
Our Civic Center, has a program for disabled children and adults for the whole year , its affordable
We do meals on wheels
We have a Martin Luther King Jr. Walk at Hope United Methodist Church.
We have multiple fairs in the summer time to raise money for charities
