session three.

One of my best friends is an Outsider. She perceives Christianity on the whole as a group of hypocritical, non-accepting, possibly misguided people. My family however she trusts and accepts. I suppose we are the exception to the rule in her view. I disagree with the idea that young people today do not like things that are easy or normal. I think young people today are lazier than previous generations; they don’t want to do anything that comes with a commitment or work as Christianity does. I think young people are constantly striving to be ‘normal’.

session four.

After I talked to my church about my program a woman pulled me aside and asked if we could use some craft supplies. She said she's been saving them from when her kids were young. Instead of waiting years for her kids to have children, and more years for the kids to be old enough to use the materials she decided to donate them to our program.
It was wonderful for her to be able to get involved in our program and use the materials sitting in her basement for the good of our kids.

session two.

I always hate this question: what are your gifts/strengths/talents. It doesn't matter how you pose the question. Partly I dislike it because I don't like boasting about myself, and partly because I'm not sure what my gifts are. I can tell you what I think I'm good at but it might not be what the people who work with me say. That being said I suppose I still need to answer the question. It is clear to me that the church is a body. In order for anything to be accomplished people have to work together and use their separate strengths for the good of the whole.

session one.

I admire the teen ministry at the Ginghamsburg church. I think the middle school and high school crowd is so essential. This is such a crucial age where kids can permanently be drawn into the crowds they're pulled in. They are easily munipulated by kids at school and it is essential they are given the support and healthy foundation to grow and stay strong in the church and build their faith from the children's stories to a more mature independent faith and relationship. The Ginghamsburg church seemed to have a lot going on for the students in the church.
