Session 4

Sean and I led a Sunday service with our site director when the pastor was out of town. This included our testimony, speeches by two of the children and special music by the kids. We took a love offering the next week. Sean also came up with the idea to contact a local yo-yo/juggling ministry group for a special event at our church. It is free of charge for all of the children and families of the community with a love offering that will benefit their ministry and our own.

Session 3

Outsiders are people who aren't Christians and especially those who know nothing about the faith. I know very many people who are outsiders and will definitely say that I am friends with several people who would be considered outsiders. Outsiders can have many different views about Christianity, but the people I'm friends with are very accepting of it. In our large group of friends at school it is probably split 50/50 between Christians and outsiders. Those that are not Christian are, at least outwardly, accepting of those that are Christian and they respect that we are people of faith.

Blog 2: Spiritual Gifts

After reading 1 Corinthians 12 and spending some time thinking about the verse I now have a better idea about the gifts that I have been blessed with. With regards to the summer program I believe I have been graced with the ability to play games and sports, a good sense of humor, the ability to relate to children and the ability to take charge when needed.

Engaging Others in the Mission

My name is Jakub Rudnik and this is my second summer as a mission intern at West Branch FUMC, although it has been three years since my first summer. Among the websites I visited for my first blog were: lakelouisecommunity.org, joysouthfield.org, deafshalomzone.org and emergedetroit.org. The website that attracted me most was the United Methodist Church's website. It was not necessarily the website itself, but more that I understand the organization as a whole, but had never previously spent much time on the website.
