Today as we finished moving Mr. Stogel out of his FEMA supplied trailer, we had an opportunity to take a trip around the Lower 9th Ward.  This part of the city took over 10ft of water and lies mostly still vacant.  With the still-present spray paint markings from rescue efforts and the levee looming down the block, this part of town felt the closest in time to Katrina.

Bill in our group wondered why we weren't working here, it certainly seemed like the place with the biggest need.  Adriane proposed that the displaced poor might not have a lot of money to return and rebuild.  On the flip side, we did run across the house recently beautifully rebuilt by the This Old House show on PBS. It was a bright spot in a place with a lot of challenges.
